CARE AND REPAIR
Belstaff products are built to last, but they need to be cared for to ensure they stay looking and performing their best. Here’s some advice on how to clean, store, refresh and repair your waxed cotton and leather items to keep them going for years to come.
OUR SERVICES:
REPAIRS, ALTERATIONS, CLEANING AND REWAXING
We work with a small number of trusted service partners who are authorised to carry out repairs, alterations, professional cleaning, and rewaxing of Belstaff products.
Whether you need a zip fixed, a tear repaired, a jacket cleaned, or a full reproofing, our Customer Service team or your nearest Belstaff store can refer you to the most relevant partner for the job.
NEED TO KNOW:
WAXED COTTON
Waxed cotton is wind and water resistant, while remaining highly breathable. By maintaining it properly, you can ensure it continues to protect you from the elements. We recommend rewaxing your jacket once a year if worn regularly.
NEED TO KNOW:
LEATHER
Leather is a durable and hard-wearing natural material derived from animal hide. Each hide has a unique grain pattern and may display natural marks or variations. Many of our jackets are made from full-grain leather or finished with specialist treatments such as hand waxing, which involves treating the leather with oils and waxes to enhance its appearance and support a distinctive aging process. Regular care helps maintain the condition, appearance, and lifespan of the garment.
While at-home maintenance can help extend the life of your jacket, we recommend periodically using a professional leather cleaner. To ensure your leather product is cleaned using the correct process and solvents, please contact one of our stores or our Customer Service team for a referral to a service provider that uses a gentle process suitable for leather.
