11. belstaff repair and rewaxing service policy (uk only)
In certain cases, where a repair request requires a specialist service not available through ACS, we may refer the customer to one of our authorised external partners. In such instances, the contract for the repair will be formed directly between the customer and the authorised partner. Belstaff will have no further involvement in, and accepts no liability for, any work carried out under such separate agreements.
Our goal is always to restore your garment to the highest possible quality while preserving its original design and craftsmanship.
Please note that the following terms apply to all repair requests, including those outside the standard 24-month warranty period:
For repair requests submitted via the Belstaff online repair portal, customers are required to select the applicable service and remit payment based on the initial quotation once provided. A shipping label will be issued following confirmation of payment.
Upon receipt of the item, our partner, ACS, will assess the condition of the product and verify the scope of work required. Should the assessment determine that additional or alternative repairs are necessary beyond those initially quoted, an updated quotation will be issued. No further work will be undertaken without the customer’s prior approval of the revised quotation.
Upon acceptance of a repair quotation and payment of all applicable fees, including any delivery charges, you will receive a prepaid, trackable shipping label to send your item to the workshop. You are responsible for securely packaging the item and dropping it off at a designated drop-off point.
We aim to provide estimated delivery timings and ensure prompt transit and return of repaired items; however, time shall not be of the essence in relation to delivery or return.
Risk in the item remains with you until it is delivered to the address specified on the prepaid label and received at the workshop. Once received, the item shall be at our risk until it is returned to you. Return shipping following repair is included within the quoted price.
If an event outside our reasonable control delays delivery or return, we will attempt to notify you where possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact. We shall not be liable for delays caused by such events. If there is a risk of substantial delay, you may contact us to end the contract and receive a refund for any repair services paid for but not completed.
You must ensure that all personal items, accessories, and original packaging are removed before shipping the item to us. We shall not be responsible for the loss or return of any such items sent in error.
If you fail to send the item to us within a reasonable time after accepting a quotation, we may treat the contract as fulfilled and retain the payment made.
In cases where original parts or materials are no longer available, a functional replacement of comparable quality will be used.
We aim to complete repairs within the estimated timeframes provided. During busier periods, delays may occur. Where possible, we will inform you of any expected extensions.
Waxed cotton garments that are soiled or heavily worn may require cleaning before rewaxing can begin. Where this is necessary, we will notify you, and the additional cleaning service will be quoted and charged separately prior to proceeding.
While every care is taken in handling your item, Belstaff cannot be held responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage or deterioration.
- Damage resulting from improper use, cleaning, or storage.
- Wear and tear unrelated to the repair work undertaken.
- Any loss or damage occurring in transit if the item was not shipped in accordance with Belstaff’s recommended procedures.
In the rare event of loss or damage to an item while in Belstaff’s care, fair compensation, up to the value of a replacement garment equivalent to the item’s original retail price, will be provided only where negligence is proven on our part.
All paid repairs are guaranteed for six months from the date of completion against defects in workmanship or materials specific to the repair performed. This guarantee does not extend to the remainder of the item or to unrelated faults.
Repairs carried out outside the standard 24-month warranty do not reinstate or extend the original product warranty. Belstaff’s repair service does not imply acceptance of liability for the item beyond the specific repair work completed.
