CLASS CLOUDMASTER 2024
The inaugural edition of our annual Cloudmaster Prize Fund, supporting the next generation of design talent – in partnership with Hypebeast and the Manchester Fashion Institute.
Our cohort were asked to imagine the future of Belstaff by solving modern functional design problems through innovative thinking. Each offered their own unique perspective, reinterpreting our roots, our motorcycle legacy, and our pioneering spirit for a new era.
A WINNING ENDEAVOUR
This year’s winning design was created by Hadisa Ahmad Tabussam, which was prototyped and showcased at the ‘OUR FIRST 100 YEARS’ archive exhibition, alongside the other finalists. Drawing on a personal attachment to climbing, Hadisa created performance gear that’s protective without being restrictive. Her designs scored her a cash prize and a 3 month internship at Belstaff HQ.
THE FACULTY
The students gained invaluable industry knowledge from our experts: Designer Saul Nash, Belstaff Creative Director Sean Lehnhardt-Moore, journalist Charlie Porter, Chief Buying and Merchandising Officer at END. Lea Cranfield, Hypebeast VP EMEA Steven Appleyard and Senior Curator of Africa and Diaspora Textiles and Fashion at the V&A Christine Checinska. We thank each of them for their support, guidance and collaboration.
