Having created the look for Brad Pitt in the academy award winning "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," Belstaff are delighted to once again have created his look in Quentin Tarantino’s eagerly anticipated movie “Inglorious Basterds”.
Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (Mélanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema.
Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own.
With Belstaff’s archive of original jackets and designs dating back till 1924, Belstaff was the natural choice for the costume designer Anna Sheppard in her search for a jacket that was authentic to the period and the look of Brad Pitt’s character.
The Belstaff 'S-Icon Jacket', which our hero wears in the movie, is made from Belstaff’s genuine Antique 10 wax cotton, known for its’ strong and protective design against the elements. The distinguished sheepskin shawl collar adds to the comfort of the jacket and completes the look.
Belstaff are also delighted to be supporting the film at The 62th Cannes Film Festival, where it will be having it’s world premiere on Wednesday 20th May followed by the exclusive after premiere party hosted by Belstaff .
